Why is the Cross so Offensive?
The cross and for what it stands is a tremendous victory for all who receive its message. But for those who reject it and turn their back, it's a tragic choice and decision. Deuteronomy 30:19 says, "I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing, therefore choose life that both you and your descendants may live."
The Bible says in Jeremiah 17:7-8, "Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose hope is the Lord, for he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, which spreads out its roots by the river, and will not fear when heat comes, but its leaves will be green, and will not be anxious in the year of drought, nor will cease from yielding fruit."
2 Peter 1:3-5, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead to an inheritance, incorruptible and undeniable and that does not fade away, reserved in Heaven for you who are kept in the power of God."
